Procedural Shape Synthesis on Subdivision Surfaces
We present methods for synthesizing 3D shape features on subdivision surfaces using multiscale procedural techniques. Multiscale synthesis is a powerful approach for creating surfaces with different levels of detail. Our methods can also blend multiple example multiresolution surfaces, including procedurally-defined surfaces as well as captured models.
متن کاملShape characterization of subdivision surfaces--case studies
For subdivision surfaces, it is important to characterize local shape near flat spots and points where the surface is not twice continuously differentiable. Applying general principles derived in [PR0x], this paper characterizes shape near such points for the subdivision schemes devised by Catmull and Clark and by Loop. For generic input data, both schemes fail to converge to the hyperbolic or ...
متن کاملShape Recovery Using Dynamic Subdivision Surfaces
A new dynamic subdivision surface model is pro posed for shape recovery from D data sets The model inherits the attractive properties of the Catmull Clark subdivision scheme and is set in a physics based mod eling paradigm Unlike other existing methods our model does not require a parameterized input mesh to recover shapes of arbitrary topology allows direct ma nipulation of the limit surface v...

متن کاملDesign Optimization of Structural Acoustic Problems Using Fem-bem
A design optimization procedure of a noise-vibrationharshness (NVH) problem of a complicated vehicle structure is presented by assuming the acoustic pressure does not affect the structural vibration. The steady-state dynamic behavior of the vehicle is calculated from the frequency response finite element analysis, while the sound pressure level within the acoustic cavity is calculated from the ...
